A Trip to Atlanta to Talk with the Georgia Assembly About Gerrymandering and Voting Machines
A group of WAGs are heading to Atlanta to join Common Cause in a lobbying effort to encourage the Georgia Assembly to pass bills and resolutions to improve our voting process and to move toward a more fair and equitable approach to redistricting.
Many of us are bringing our husbands. We will head up to Atlanta on February 28th and return after lunch on March 1. Common Cause will be our sponsor at the Georgia Assembly, and will provide us with training and scripts on the most effective way to interact. They will also act as our professional lobbyists during the day.
We plan to party as a group on the evening of the 28th. All are welcome. We are staying at the Residence Inn in downtown Atlanta which is just minutes from the State House.
Lynne Gilfillan is coordinating the event, including organizing car pools. Join your fellow WAG for a fun couple of days in the Capitol. Contact Lynne for more information.
